Ethics Question

Ok. I love to bomb, do MaW's etc. I have been refraining from trading/bombing/fulfilling lists with sticks gifted, bombed, passed, wished etc. I know it is in absolute bad taste and shameful to the hobby to sell a gifted stick.

However Is it ok to bomb, pass, or fulfill a list with sticks you have been given by a previous botl/sotl? I do not want to do something to disappoint the people of this great hobby. Since I am so new, I wanted to get the input of the board.

So say I was bombed a stick, is it ok to give that stick away?

I agree with the above. I don't re-bomb typically, but folks are free to send out anything I bomb out. My feeling is that once I've given it to you, it's yours to do as you please.

I personally don't bomb any smokes gifted to me, I'd feel bad about it. Like re-gifting a Christmas present. To each his own. They are yours to do with what you like after all.

That being said, it has severely slowed my bombing as of late due to the fact that I've bombed out almost all my decent sticks I've purchased, and only have the cheaper gars I use for golf,etc. Wife even mentioned it the other day about giving away half of what I buy. Lol

Never been bombed and never bombed anyone else (yet) but to me personally, this makes the most sense.

Thanks for the link. I caught myself last week when I picked up a stick and about bombed it, but then I realized it was given to me somewhere down the line. I just put it back. I know it is tough sometimes to keep track but I wanted to double check. I have asked permission if I was gifted doubles to pass on the love and always told go ahead.

Thanks again. I know the generosity runs very strong in the cigar communities and it is easy to just keep giving and not realize it may have been a gift if you are not organized. Some times I lack complete organization.

What you'll learn is everyone has a different opinion. Some people get pissy and bent out of shape and others consider a gift to do what you will. I say if you are not gonna smoke it better to pass it on.

Nah, I'm just playing, since I sent you a stick for your enjoyment, you may get more enjoyment by sending it to someone else who may enjoy it. Therefore, you've made three people happy, me, you, and the person you gave the stick to. Win/win if you ask me.

I personally will smoke what is sent to me though.

If you want, when you bomb forward be sure to credit the person who gave you the stick initially. That should take care of the guilt.

I agree with idiot. If I sent a stick, and someone knew they won't enjoy, I'd rather see it end up with another brother who may enjoy.

That being said, if all can agree no feelings would be hurt, I think it would be nice for the re-bomber to label the gar with the OG Bomber's name. Then when posting up in Today's smoke, the recipient of the re-bombed stick may give thanks to the OG Bomber.
