Light up a good habano telling yourself you'll enjoy it, even though you're not in the mood for one? I wasn't in the mood but decided to try to enjoy a Partagas 898V tonight but just couldn't get through it. I guess it was the combination of humidity and just being fatigued from working all day. Really sad to waste a cigar like that. Being in the right frame of mind can make or break a cigar smoking experience. I say experience because each one is unique in its own way.

Right in there with you. I do this way too much when traveling. I wnat a cigar but I know I'm tired and the atmosphere sucks. Such a waste.

I guess that we've all done that.

I've gone outside, sat on my balcony and lit up a smoke just because it's a weekend night and I can relax, only to realize later that I didn't even want the cigar, but just started smoking it because it's what I would normally do. Wasting a cigar that way can make you feel silly.

I did that the other day with a DC Fuente Hemmingway. I was all about smoking it, it just didn't happen though.

I've gone through ruts like that. You just gotta wait for it to play out.
Once you start rushing what is supposed to be a relaxing hobby, it stops becoming relaxing and becomes work.

Yes, I've done it a handful of times, and for myself it's a mistake and a waste of a cigar. I've also lit 'em up trying to bring myself out of a funk and it has never worked.:frownno: I try now to choose my moments with much more consideration as to what my state of mind is at the time.
