Ever purchase a gun and regreted it?

How many of you here have purchased either a rifle or a handgun thinking you were going to like. Only to find out that you don't like it at all. And wish you would have never purchased it?



The gun that I regreted purchasing was a Ruger Mini 14. The one I had was a real POS. It never fed well with any magazines exept for the factory five rounder that it came with. After finding this out. I couldn't wait to get rid of it. So I could use the money towards the purchase of an AR15. Everytime I see a Mini 14 at a gunshow or gun store. The first thing I think of is jamamatic.:sadstare:

Only gun I ever regreted buying was an A-5 paintball gun - but I doubt that counts.

I bought a Taurus .40 because I wanted a gun to have in the house for protection. It was my first gun purchase and that thing is a POS. Since then, I have purchased several other hand guns and they all remind me of how badly manufactured that thing is.

My first handgun was a Taurus Model 66 .357 magnum revolver. It was a real POS even after sending it back to the factory. I got tired of it and sold it at a gun show. I told the guy it was giving me problems. He said "I don't care, I'll send it back" I am glad I no longer own it. I will never buy a Taurus again. I hope I never have to sell the rest of my guns.

I bought a B&T TP9 with plans of doing a SBR conversion. As a pistol alone it sucks but as a SBR it would be awesome. However at the moment I'm contemplating selling it because I will not be paying for the $200 stamp, getting the receiver engraved, and purchasing the stock anytime soon.

Even the POS aim point 380 I got for $50 I dont really regret it...

Yeah, had a Taurus 1911. After 1 month the ambi safety fell out of the right side and I couldn't get it to stay in. Turns out a small piece of the little flared end snapped off. I sent the part back at my expense and waited 8 weeks for a replacement. When I got it back the slide kept hanging up because of the magazine being a POS. Bought a couple of Wilson mags and it fixed it enough so I wouldn't feel guilty selling it.

Bought a TEC22 just for the helluvit once. It was really a piece of junk, so I sold it.

My first 30.06 was a Remington model 7400, it looked nice with its engraved receiver and burled walnut stock, the exception was that I could rarely shoot it without jamming. After trying a few different mags and ammo from different manufacturers without success, I decided to cut my losses and sold it.

I think the only gun I've bought that I don't like is a Walther P22 that I picked up on a whim. It doesn't particularly shoot to POA that well and I find that I just don't take it out of the safe very often. I'll trade it one of these days, but don't expect to get much for it.

My mini 14 has the same problem with 30 shot clips...it does fine with 20 and the factory 5 shot, but I don't regret buying it.

I bought a slightly used Ruger Vacquero in .45LC for a great price...
It had a little problem with the cylinder pin wanting to come loose. I took it to the gunsmith/dealer I bought it from... turns out the pin was a hair too long and so he turned it down on a lathe... It has never had a problem since!

I now know why the original owner traded it. Always try to fix the problem instead of dumpin the piece. Usually it is somethin minor and easily fixable..then you have a great gun.

None I really regret. Some I was not too sad to see them go. But, nothing I really regret picking up

i regretted the ruger super redhawk in .480 ruger i bought when i was 21- couldnt get the thing to shoot for the life of me, even called ruger to get them to cut the barrel off and make it a snubby. Ended up trading it for a smith 629- and 9 months later the ruger super alaskan came out- my idea- doubt it probably Lew Horton's idea, but ill take credit for it

Got a Glock Subcompact 9mm I dont particularly love. Bought it as a backup for work, but I really just dont like it. Got the LE discount on it which is largely why I bought it. Have almost sold it 2x to other officers. In the end I am sure I will sell it. I think part of it is I really dont like the 9mm round.

Ruger Mini-Thirty. Gun shot ok, too big/bulky. Sold it for what I paid for it and bought a Colt AR-15A4. Sweet gun!

My first handgun was a S&W Sigma .40. It's a real POS. I don't necessarily regret it bec ause it will still do what it is intended to do, but it sure does SUCK!!!

I second the mini-30. It may be fine for some, but for me it was garbage regardless the ammo used.

got a 4" .45 XD, terrible gun, but there was something wrong with it.

I tried 5 diffrent kinds of ammo all diffrent grains and I couldnt hit a target 15 yrds out. Now before you say "indian/arrow" BS I've been shooting since i was 10, I can hold a 3" group at 20 yds with my glock
