What's your opinion of these Millenium Jars? To me, the tops just don't look right when compared to the photos in the MRN book. Habanas background just looks too orange and the 2000 logo on the Montecristo jar just looks "wrong" somehow.

I might have bid on the Cohiba jar, but I'm thinking that they're copies. Plus, the seller never answered a buyer's question about the serial number on the Cohiba's warranty seal.

What's the verdict...real or fake?

NEVER, I repeat, NEVER buy any cigars off Ebay. If someone has something that is expensive like those jars, do you think they would sell it there? Anyone that would own a millennium jar would know where to sell before listing there. Stay far, far away. I do not even look on Ebay for cigars. Only humidors, cabinets and occasionally accessories. We have great suppliers, so I rarely even look there anymore.

Steve, Steve, Steve....the humidors were EMPTY

But probably fake anyhow, though he did say one was purchased at an LCDH in Canada and the other in London.

Which could also mean his is either a scammer who slightly educated himself on the topic, or there is always the chance that those are not actual pictures of the jars he is selling, but ones he had on his computer. That still doesn't explain why he didn't answer the serial number question.

I like to scan eBay on occasion for old cigar paraphenalia and so forth. Cigar jars always catch my eye and I like watching to see what they eventually go for. When I spotted the Cohiba jar I started watching it and would have placed a bid if it was real, but then upon closer inspection there were too many inconsistencies. I agree with Steve that you should never buy any cigars from eBay, and most commemorative items are fakes...still, folks line up to buy them.

I think that this seller knows that what he had wasn't original. Lots of crooks out there!

you can also ask him if there is any additional packaging that came with these when he bought them. There should be a pretty cardboard box that the jar came in. This also had a string handle if I am correct.

Guys from the pix I can't tell how yall can say they are fake? Im not saying yall are wrong just hard to tell by the pix. I think the tale tale sign if it is real or not would have to be the bilboa on the bottom like J. said of course then again this could be forged as well i guess?

I was comparing the Cohiba jar on eBay to the photograph of the one in Min Ron Nee's book. In the original, the yellow background on the jar does not extend all the way to the bottom like the one for auction (although this could be the angle of the photograph). Also, on the lid, the background on the "Habanos" logo should be more of a yellow, not a deep orange.

I think that before I bought something like this online I'd want to see plenty of photographs as well as have the seller explain where / how he came across the item. As in all things, "Let the Buyer Beware."
