What's your favorite margarita recipe?

Recently I've gotten tired of the various high fructose corn syrup mixes and started to play around with fresh squeezed lime juice and different tequilas.

Last night I landed on the closest I've ever been to the perfect margarita:

1 part Tequila (preferably Reposado)
1 part Cointreau
1 part fresh lime juice
1/3 to 1/2 part simple syrup

Blend with ice until crushed finely but not slushy. Rim glass with Cointreau and salt.

Fill glass and enjoy!

I've found that 100% Agave Tequila is better that Gold. And I used Milagro Tequila (reposado) last night and it was 100 times better than the Cuervo 1800 I'd used previously.

I use shot glasses as a measurement. A friend works at a local place called Trudy's and this is their award winning mix. They also have a drink called a mexican martini which is pretty tastey but I cant remember the mix.

2 shots Patron
1 1/2 shot Cointreau
1 shot O.J.
1 shot fresh lime juice (half a lime)
1 shot margarita mix (optional, think of it as a binder)

Chill in a shaker and pour over ice ;)

The best that I've heard of is:

1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice from about 4 limes
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 cup orange-flavored liqueur, like Grand Marnier
1/4 cup Triple Sec
1 cup gold tequila
Ice
1/2 can good quality lager-style beer
Lime wheels, for garnish

To salt the margarita glasses, rub the outside rims of 4 big glasses with a cut lime and press them lightly into a plate of kosher salt, to coat.

Combine the lime juice, sugar, orange liqueur, Triple Sec, tequila, and a big handful of ice in a cocktail shaker (or blender). Shake the margarita really well, for a good 20 seconds, add a splash of beer and strain into the salt rimmed glasses filled with ice. Garnish with a lime wheel.

A bartender friend of mine told me the secret to his famous Margarita was a splash of 7 up. I found it really makes a difference. Unless your a minimalist like ATCDub...

I'll go with this ... it's what I always order when at a mexican restaurant.
Although, I'm not too particular about the tequila.

Dub has my vote! I'm getting less and less into mixing anything...but when I do, this is my recipe:

1 can Frozen Limeade
1/2 can Cointreau
1 can Tequila

put it all in a mixer and let it churn with some ice
pour it and get drunk

My favorite Margarita recipe is..

Silver Patron
Margarita mix
Lime
Ice

Pour ice into shaker, add Patron and Margarita mix. Close top, shake vigorously and pour into a Margarita glass that has been salted/limed along the edge.

Drink and enjoy.
