I listen mostly to engadget - A technology blog. It keeps me up to date on cool toys coming out. I also found a podcast by a kid a Michigan State (where I go to school) where he goes around drunk at bars and talks about Spartan Sports. That one is a little unreliable as you might imagine.

Engadget

I'm going to start an individual podcast Any Day Now (tm) to get a feel for it before launching the BOTL Podcast.

Make sure to let us know how to get it. I'm sure people on this board will be able to offer constructive criticizm and encouragment. Exciting times for BOTL with the podcast and the logo gear coming out. You are doing a great job!

Thanks bro. I'm just glad a few other brothers are interested in hosting it as well. I don't know if I have the courage to speak to myself :p

I came to this forum for the cigar chat but I just realized something I hadn't before. I do an accasional live streaming broacast which I archive and then put up as a podcast afterwards. Reading some of these posts made me realize that I could use skype as an audio source and have somebody call me on there and then broadcast it. Well the annoying thing was that with nicecast (the program I use to broadcast) you have to select a source and then use effect filters, which is what I used to do my voiceovers when I play music. I did some hunting for a way to use skype as an audio source and play itunes music and discovered the program allows you to capture audio from any app so basically now I can do a music broadcast, voiceover, and have guests call with skype and have them on live.

The way I am doing my podcast is through a php script I found which just takes any audio files you dump into the directory and sticks them into the podcast feed. If you need any input on any of this stuff, let me know!

How do you do a voiceover with Skype?

Well with nicecast or audio hijack pro you can add the "Application Mixer" into the string of effects, select Skype as the application and click the button to hijack the audio. Then you can mix the skype volume to your liking and keep using your audio source (itunes, microphone etc)

Excellent. I've had a Nicecast license since it was released but haven't used it much.

At first I was somewhat leary about it because of the methods it uses (the application enhancer to grab audio) but it was the only game in town that would let me do voiceovers and stream music to my icecast server. Once I used it enough I found that its a lot better than I expected, maybe even better than anything else on any platform.
