In the past few years with DE's new foray in non-infused premium cigars I had really high hopes. I tried the Liga Line, both No.9 and T52 and found them to be flavorful, but nothing special. There was nothing that made them special or defined. Tons of great flavor, but nothing that stood out and made it unique or with the price tag IMHO. Then there was the Dirty Rat, once again, a good smoke but nothing too crazy awesome for me. Tried the L40 fresh and the same deal. Then there was the Undercrown.... a cheaper Liga that promised similar flavor. I was once again not head over heals for this cigar.

The other day I met up with Chad (cmhicksusmc) and he gifted me a MUWAT Bait Fish. The normal MUWAT vitolas are little big for my liking, so this vitola paired with its "extra fuerte" blend made me pretty excited. This morning I lit it up and was pleasantly surprised. I was greeted with a creamy cinnamon coating my palate and nice woody backbone. As the cigar progressed the flavors became more pronounced and I got hints of sweet blackberries. The aroma was gorgeous and the price is right when you buy by the box. This is a DE cigar I can get behind. If you haven't bought any, go and order some now. I can confidently recommend it to anyone.

JD, if you read this... please make this blend in a standard corona. Add an inch and a half and you'll have a winner.

I've smoked one of these almost every time I've been to the dog park since they were released. I love them also. I find it so much different then the original UZI sticks that I think you could even put a different band on it. Not saying the other UZIs are bad, just this one is different.

though closely related i was under the impression that this was not a DE cigar rather a Joya de Nicaragua cigar that JD helped to blend. if i am incorrect on this please feel free to correct me and direct me to more information on the subject.

I believe they are rolled by jdn the filler is 50/50 DE/JDN and the binder and wrapper are DE.

I love these little smokes especially when your short on time.

so it is a collaboration between the two friends JdN and DE. this is the only JdN cigar that i have yet to try. i look forward to trying it soon. knowing the quality to come from both i have high hopes for this one.

The other interesting thing is that the BAIT FISH, while still being in the MUWAT line, are a stronger blend (thank the original 60RG collection), called the "EF" or "F", depending on who you ask.

We are working on 5 exclusive sizes at the JDN Factory, some of which will happen and some definitely won't ... but one that is really going to be interesting is the 6x46 size (also in the "EF" blend). I am anticipating that this 6x46 possibly be ready to do a hundred boxes in late Spring or so. The code name for it at this point, is "BERLIN" ... Hoping that everyone is relaxing this holiday season, maybe wrapping up presents, or drinking copious amounts of beer or bourben, or maybe smoking a stick in the house, or just bothering someone you love ... you know what I mean.

You know... I thought I was done buying cigars for a long long time. I might have to make an exception for some of these though. Dammit.

Good to know. I feel the same way about JDs stuff I've tried. It's good I just haven't been blown away plus most of the smokes are larger ring gauges than I care for.:tiphat:

Haven't had one. The size are too large for my preference. If there was a standard 5"x50 Robusto I'd be all over it. Or even a Corona 5.5"x46 or a Petit Corona 5"x42.

Hoping to try these soon, traded for a 5er that's resting now. Probably light one up in the next week or so ... it's so cold here now that even in my garage with a heater, I'm down to coronas and smaller.

Your not alone. I smoke in my garage which is below my house and I use a space heater and I still got to bundle up. Sucks. :( These CC Petit Corona's are doing me nicely though. The new Oliva V No.4 is nice too, gotta get me more of them for sure.
