Well, it's on lay away until I get the permit.

Went by the range and looked around. Almost all the guns were way more than my experience or budget could stand. But then I found tucked away in a corner a Ruger P4 Mk II 22/45 with a price tag of 199.00.

Sold!

It looked like new condition. Shoots 22 LRs so it will be farelly cheap to use.
I'll get the permit started on Monday. I have 90 days to complete the sale so it will make a nice Christmas present, lol.

Didnt buy it here but heres the specs.:

That's a great gun. The grip angle and controls are very comfortable since they're modeled after a 1911. I second the CCI ammo. My only complaint is the sights are black-on-black, which makes it kind of hard to see on dark targets but they make a hi-viz sight which is supposed to be quite an improvement.

Enjoy! You'll love it.

Thanks. Can't wait to shoot it. I'll be taking a safety class soon as well. I've shot a lot of weapons but you can never be safe enough around them.

I was amazed at how crowded the place was, must have been 20 people there to rent a shooting lane.

I have owned it's older brother for about 30 years... you will NOT be disappointed...
Mine will happily eat anything I want to feed it... and my sons and I have fed it a LOT over the years... untold thousands of rounds thru it and never a hiccup

Great first handgun. You are smart starting with a .22. Too many people want a 9mm or .40cal first, and can't afford to develop any skill. My first handgun was an old Mk. I. Couldn't even start to guess how many hundreds of rounds went through that thing.

Nice purchase and what is great about the .22 is that it's cheap and fun to shoot. You can buy a brick off .22's for $25 and shoot all day due to the mild recoil. To be honest I enjoy plinking cans with my .22 more than shooting paper targets with other guns.

I have a Browning Buckmark and put more rounds through it than any of my other guns.
