Ok BOTL here it goes. Now move your eyes a little to the right away from the boobies. Now I’m not a writer nor claim to be any where close, so please bear with me, and laugh if you must. I have only been smoking for around seven months probably smoke 45 to 50 cigars, not cheap one’s in my opinion, like Padrons 1964 anny, Fonseca, Fuentes Hemingway’s, Camacho’s, Punch, CAO’s, Ashton’s. So I’m doing this to find out if this was a real ISOM.
Well on with my review, the appearance of the Partagas series D #4
The wrapper was a medium brown a little darker than a brown paper bag, had a red ring with four gold stripes two on top and two on the bottom with gold writing.
I used the punch on my Vector twin torch lighter, usually use a cutter. Slowly heated the cigar while turning slowly. At the beginning the taste was a little strong I thought, kind of a burning tingling feeling on the lips like pepper, that lasted for about four or five puffs.
The ash was a medium to dark gray with light hints of black, a very tight ash with a spiral texture at the tip. This cigar produce more smoke that bellowed around me then any other I have smoked, it was a nice even easy draw.
The burn was the best I ever saw no runs, didn’t need to do any repairs perfect sharp edges. During this time I was also enjoying some beers. Now don’t take this wrong but so far this was the best cigar I ever smoked I was admiring it like a pair of nice firm ----, My wife came out three times while I smoke this piece of heaven, and even mention I had the biggest grin on me she has seen since I have smoked a cigar.
Now usually about two thirds of the way though a cigar they seem to get a little better tasting to me, if that’s what you want to call it. Not this one it tasted the same from start to finish in fact I smoked it down to less than one inch, I was a little disappointed I had to let it go.
Now for the big question for the BOTL that have this pleasure all the time, does this sound like a real ISOM cigar or just a great fake. And if it is a fake I really don’t care.
Are there any NICs that I can get here in the states that compare to this cigar? Please let me know.

Nope, sorry but I don't think you are going to find any domestic cigars that taste like a cuban cigar. At least I haven't. That's not to say there aren't some great domestic sticks, just different flavor profiles. Sort of like comparing French wine to california wine. Both can be great, just different flavor profiles.

As far as if your PSD4 was a genuine, impossible to tell from here. Taste is the only way to tell if a cigar was made in Cuba. Boxes and bands can be duplicated with great accuracy. The one way to be sure before you smoke a cigar, that it is in fact a "real" cuban cigar, is to have confidence in your source. Use only trusted sources.

With that said, your next mission is to try more cigars, both domestic and cuban, to educate your pallette.

Good luck, enjoy the ride.

Nice review

Your review sounds just like the ones I've tried. My favorite Robusto. And as Stogies mentioned there is no substitute for the PSD4.
