Need help from FL botls and snow birds.
The Inlaws started talking about buying a retirement property in FL next year or two. I told them that it was a great idea if that's were they eventually want to move then why not. The've been the greatest people I've ever known. Also it's time to start doing what THEY want.

Any good towns to consider buying in?
Retirement condo/home 2-3 bed.
Safe area close to the gulf side.
Still reasonably priced(FL) with this market.
Established community is a plus as well.
Golf course wouldn't hurt.
ANY suggestions would be appreaciated.
P.S. They're already addicted to the mouse in Orlando the last 10 years.

Thanks guys.

Cant speak from expirience but from what my brother has said, Cape Coral seems like s good place, he's been down a couple times looking at condos(relatively cheap from what I gather). Only other place Ive been to is clearwater, not much there. Naples I hear is wonderful.

Oh and, good luck finding a golf course in Florida...:eyepoke:

I lived in the Fort Walton Beach area for four years. The only thing that that might keep them out of there is massive amount of military activity in the area. The beaches there are beautiful (well normally) and the real estate became reasonable again. I remember when I lived there you couldn't touch a 1200sqft house for $180,000 but now you can get realistic prices in the area. There was a big bubble there and it popped. There's plenty of golf courses. I don't have much experience anywhere else besides visiting Pompano beach once and Ft Lauderdale once.

fort Myers / Cape Coral area is nice, and there is deals to be had on condos right now. Both towns are right on the gulf. Big enough area to have everything you could want, but not too big. If they move here, and you do not come stay with them and go out herfing with us, we will hunt you down like an injured rabbit.

as far as housing costs it was, they are starting to go back up a bit. I would live in Fort Myers over Cape Coral any day, but there in only a river between the 2. I live in fort myers so maybe I am bias
