Fly Fishing in Belize May 31st - June 7th

Damn, I'm excited. Had not planned to do a trip this spring, but several of my regulars grouped up and came to me and demanded one.

Going to El Pescador Lodge on Ambergris Caye. Tons of bonefish (Belizean bonefish are smaller than most, but they're everywhere), excellent permit fishing (my personal weakness) ... but the real draw for this time and place is tarpon - lots of them - in the 50 to 150 pound range! Never caught a really big 'poon before, so I'm hoping this is the trip. Never been to the Caribbean this close to the middle of the year. Should be interesting. Not real popular because it's hot and not much wind, but good because the angling pressure is way down and ... because there's not too much wind.:rolling:

It's such a gorgeous area down there. I'm amped!

big poon is like riding a moped. It's a lot of fun until your friends see you doing it.

I wish I could make the trip! I've always wanted to do some kind of fishing in warm weather! I'll be in Paris for this trip, tho. Maybe some other time.

you're not going to belive this,,, but i met one of the owners of the lodge. he's a big time cigar smoker.... party'd with him two different nights! i've got his email address and both US and belize phone numbers. told him all about the botl...!! i'll pm you his info!!
