A little background: I sporadically smoked cigars some fifteen years ago. Mostly the big name brands, AF's, Mac's, occasional Davidoff, you get the picture. Fast forward to December 2015, fiancé and I decided to go the destination wedding route in St. Martin. Went to the LCDH in Marigot to pick up some celebratory sticks... and got hooked. FML. I have now dived head first into this new hobby and have really enjoyed exploring all the new mid-production/boutique brands that are out now (i.e. Sobremesa, Foundation's El Gueguense & Tabernacle, just about anything Caldwell). Last week I finally decided to pull the trigger and ordered a variety of singles from an online vendor to explore what Cuba has to offer.
So here I am, with my fresh smorgasbord delivered today. All sorts of goodies. What struck me was how light colored the wrappers were. My question is: are Cubans normally this lightly colored, or have I become so accustomed to the dark wrappers that many manufacturers use that these seem unusually light. Hell, the only other stick in my box that is this light is a Davidoff with a Connecticut wrapper.
