I just heard of this late last year and started investigating. Nice idea, but it appears I'm about 18 months late. The activity on my local groups was pretty hot in 2005, but have since cooled down considerably.

Yes was a member of the Trenton Freecycle and now the Roanoke, I have given and gotten from both, just got a got samsung b&w laserprinter.

I have been getting the offer emails from the yahoo group (all of the groups operate out of yahoo).

Man, people are offering four boxes of girl scout cookies, broken blenders and a whole bunch of other crap

We have given some stuff away on there a few times. Then about 3 weeks a go, I picked up 3 DirecTV boxes. $20 for a new card and one of them is up and running.
