Are you guys aging your cigars before smoking them? I find, at least with the 2013 + models that they need more time to age than Dominicans. They taste a bit green and young. Whereas a Fuente Sun Grown smokes fine right out of the box.

Anyone else find this the same?

Certain cigars are best fresh IMHO. Fresh is a relative term because tobacco is aged before it is rolled. ..so what I really mean is some are best straight from the shop. In this category I'd put Padron 1000 series, DE Unicos and Liga Privada...and a lot of really oily maduros.

Anything with a clear or other non maduro wrapper I tend to like them at least rested for a while... with the milder sticks benefitting the least from longer aging as they tend to flatten out.

When I compared a Partagas Shortie which I've been aging for years against a fresh one from a box I just purchased, I tasted a huge difference. The aged one was much more refined and tastier; in my opinion... I just picked up some Cohiba Cuban Maduros... I wonder if I will have the same issue??

Most CC can use a lengthy nap. Some it's more a few months, others a year or two, others still 3-4 might be the minimum.

I've found most of the stock I have is better in a year, but some are good ROTT. The punch punch this year have been great fresh.

Others like EP2 and RASS for me are good fresh, but then hit a bit of a wall and come back better with a year plus.

Others like my 898s and some others won't start getting touched for a while.
