Good morning all,

I just got into a fight with the girlfriend, so, where else does one go at 3am? To the office to enjoy an H.Upmann "Sir Winnie" and BOTL of course!!!!!

Recently, I received a box of the Por Larranaga Limited Robusto Asia Pacific Regional Release (box of 25 SLB). My supplier sent the smokes with bands on (thankfully) but without the box. The box will be coming seperatley however in a few days...whew!

I intend to lay these guys down for many, many, many years. I'm some what concerned about the smokes being away from their original nesting place. Right now I have all 25 cigars resting in my humi, exposed nakedly to the humidor air and RH of 65%. I'm planning on re-boxing them as soon as I receive the original box. What is anyones thoughts here? I've never ran across this before. I have boxes that I've never even cracked yet, that are intended for deep aging (what I consider at least 15yrs). Are their any negative affects on my precious little darlings that I should be aware of?

Thanks BOTL,

SCS

Just put them in the box when it come's and all will be all right.

Also the box it comes in is not varnished so air will get in there as we all know sometimes the boxes are not perfectly made.

Since the box is the issue, It would probably be best to disperse them to the "brothers" for Long term care!:nodlaugh:

If anything, the cigars will stabilize quicker than if they're in a box. No worries, just rebox them and forget about them.

I am here -----> X
The same thing just recently happened to me. I received a shipment of Partaga 8-9-8's in 2 plastic bags, no box, and no reference as to whether they are shipping the box seperately. This suprised me because this has never happened before and this has been a very reliable source in the past. However, I have not dealt with them in about a year, but I am not aware of any shipping policy changes. Also, I am disappointed in the condition of the cigars. Some have torn wrappers or are spilt at the foot. I may be sending these back.

I wouldnt worry about the boxes... they will show up. At least thats what the voice in my head says. As for long term storage, dont forget to rotate the box every six months or so to keep the stogie smoking straight and not at an angle. My 2 cents. :smokingme

It's too bad they took them out of the box. They are now ruined and not suitable for long term aging. I'd be happy to give you $10 to take these ruined cigars off of your hands.

Well Brothers!

I appreciate all the feedback. Another box IS on the way!! Perhaps we can disperse via a trade...hmmm? BTW, these are smoking incredibly!!!!!

Another question though. Benzopyrene, you say to rotate the cigars every 6 months or so? Have you or anyone else ran into problems with boxes that you haven't rotated? What are they? I was under the impression to "just let 'em be".

Thanks bro's!!!

I move boxes around occasionally, I don't know that it's every 6 months. It's more a case of "Damn, I need to make more room for the boxes I have coming in!"
