Fugazi Punch??? Verdict is in

Ok guys,
My buddy's brother just came into town from Mex, and said he got some Cuban's from a reliable source. I don't think he would know a reliable source if they shoke his hand. Here is the question. Did punch ever make a Tubo with Blue writting? A link to a pic of a real one is below, The tubes on his are not purple, but rather blue. I wil try to post pics of the other ones tomorrow. I figure thhey are probably fake just due to the country they were purchased in. I just want your input before my buddy gives his brother any money.

First, how are we supposed to tell if the cigar is fake?? Do you have a picture? Where were they purchased? You know, the tube can be real and the cigar fake. Lots of possibilities, however, we can't see the cigar.

I'll get pics of the acctual smokes, I just want to see if anyone has acctually seen a PUNCH TUBO with Blue writing. All the ones online are in purple.

Blue/purple....hard to tell online especially if the monitor can't display colors properly. Besides, I coudl say I own Punch Monarcas en tubo that have what looks like blue ink but you might say purple. Too many variables to say but assume it's fake given the source country unless it was purchased in an LCdH.

I think it just looks purple in online. I believe its really blue writing.

I have also seen what appears to be blue writting on Punch tubos.

Mexico is notorious for fakes. I go there often and unless you know your way around and more importantly know your cigars, you will get screwed 9 out of 10 times (extremely conserative guess) unless using LCdH.

Thanks Oneaday and all, but I knew Mex was terrible for fakes. I know I've have bought a "Fohiba" or two in my day in Mex. I told him to tell his brother not to buy em. But the brother said "nah these guys are Cuban and have a bunch of these boxes."

So after comparing thr real band to the band on these... no verdict, same band.

Spoke with a valued source and he said the tube looks good..no verdict

Smelled great and smoked great.. no verdict

Uniform length, size and color.. no verdict

Took apart the last half of one we were smoking and it was long filler.. no verdict.

Then I saw the box, with room for all 20 sticks in it....Verdict must be FUGAZI

I never asked before, but he paid $140 for a box of what should have been $300+. Oh well he learned a lesson, Good news is they are acctually a pretty decent smoke. No one out side the loop will know so I told him to bring them to a new years eve party and give them away. He'll look like "THE MAN" for givving away Cubans.

I don't think the 'Churchills' ever came in a tubo format, the 'Monarcas' did though...25ct.

Yah. Punch Churchills in tubes. Did I miss something? I'm pretty sure that's an acctual cigar. I compared the tubes to pictures of 3 sites that sell them. I also spoke with someone we all would trust and went over the tube that says churchill. He did not seem to think it was out of place. What do I know? Aside from being purchased in Mex the box of 20 prentation gives it away.

Yup, probably not real Punch from the factory, but maybe a decent cigar afterall. :applause:
