Is this in response to that laptop catching on fire and exploding at some technology conference?

Or is this in relation to something else?

It's in response to that incident and several other similar ones. Sony has admitted the fault of their batteries and has also said they will be supporting Dell in this, which I assume means financially since Dell has already stated this recall will not affect their profits.

Well, seeing as how that is an Apple (Mac) and the recall is for Dells (PC)

I guess this still means I get to use my dell laptop as a space heater in the winter.

My Inspiron 600m is on the list and so is the battery. Just got done filling out the online form for a replacement battery.
