Any good? Comments?

Received an offer in the mail for a free coffee maker + thermos if I pay for (2) 1/2 lb bags of their coffee ($12 total). No commitment is required.

I supposedly have some on the way from the sister-in-law for Christmas. Some sort of back order or something. :dunno:

She really likes it.

The coffee is ok from what I remember, not great or good, just ok. Although it was pre-ground.

I did one of these deals 3 or 4 years ago just to get the maker as it was cheaper than anything you could buy in a store, and the coffee maker worked fine. The coffee was a bonus, so to speak.

I've used these deals several times from Gevalia to get coffee makers, mugs, etc. Especially when I was in college.

They aren't top quality, but they are not bad either. It would be a great addition to the office, etc.

They've been doing this for over 10 years.

Swedish or Danish company I cant remember which. Wholly owned by Maxwell House and Kraft General Foods. I was part of the acquisition team many years ago. Gevailia is a well known high end european brand. Our family has always enjoyed it but its very expensive sold by the half pound. Many different blends. Lots of freebees from coffee makers to mugs. They will send you coffe till you say stop. Then offer you a freebee to keep going.

Over-priced IMO. I would say sign up, get your coffee pot if you really need one and then join the black dog club. Better coffee for I think around or less price wise

Doesn't come close to Brian's Black Dog. But, as good as BD is, roasting your own is far and away the best coffee you'll ever drink. Fresh is the secret to great coffee. Roast it, let it sit and de-gas for a couple of days, grind a little and brew it. You've got yourself an incredible cup of coffee.

And the best part is it's easy and cheap. Drop me a PM if you'd like to know more.

Cheers,

I don't drink enough coffee to get into roasting my own beans. I did need a new coffee maker though - so this deal caught my eye. Thanks.

I think we have two or three of these. One that isa regular coffee makes, one that makes coffee into two travel mugs...Try the coffee and then decide.

My wife would join every year to get a new coffee maker. The coffee wasn't bad for pre-ground stuff.
