I was just gifted a couple of Guantanamera Cristales. I don't know much about these and fairly new to the lifestyle. How do they rate and should I pull them from their tubes (plastic) when they go in the humi? As always, any knowledge is greatly appreciated.

from what i've read, these are mild and perfect for a "beginner" cigar smoker.

and in my experience, generally speaking, a bad cuban is still good.

soso...most guys may evan on the lower end of soso. I personally enjoy then for an inexpensive Cuban Cigar. I believe it is a short filler machine made smoke, so don't expect too much from it.

I generally enjoy medium to full bodied smoke. But a good cigar is appreciated no matter what. Do you think aging would anything for them?

Aging almost always helps cuban cigars. However, if you like full bodied, aging might work against you. Do you know what the date code is for them?

I think you should smoke them and decide if you like them!! Opinions will vary and in the end your own opinion is what should matter to you. I find them mild and one dimensional, but you may not find them to be mild. Regarding aging, in general aging will help a cigar. However, if it isn't a good cigar to begin with, aging it can sometimes make it an old, bad cigar. My dad used to tell me this saying. "You can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit."

If you plan on smoking them soon, I would take the cap off and let them breathe a bit. If you plan on keeping them in the humi for awhile I would let them closed up.
