Hi guys,

A buddy that doesn't smoke gifted me a an RYJ No. 1 in an aluminum tube that he got from his buddy's wedding. Opening the tube, I was greeted with a waft of goodness. However, It looks like the wrapper and binder are damaged at the head exposing the filler. I plan to try to smoke it as is and snip some off of the head if I have draw issues (likely). But I figured I would see what my fellow botl would suggest. I'm also on the fence as to whether I should put it in a humidor for awhile.

To be on the safe side, I'd put it in the humidor for a few weeks before smoking.

Will this be the first Cuban cigar that you've ever smoked?

No, I've had the pleasure of smoking a Partagas Serie D No 4 and a RYJ Short Churchill when I was in Brazil a couple of months ago. Both of which were stellar even to my newb palate.

Thanks for the advice, I think it is the best way to go.
