Hey guys you probably know I'm more of a 1911 guy. But since I have upgraded my G23 with a 3.5lb ghost trigger the Glock cool aid is tasting much better:yes:

Anway I've been wanting to get another Glock and set my sights on the G22. Why the G22 you ask? We'll I wanted a Glock with a little longer barrell & more capacity. (In case you've never heard this? You never wish for a smaller caliber or less capacity in a gunfight) 15+1 is just about twice the capacity of a single stack .45 1911. I like the .40 S&W round. The G22 is versitile, I can get a 9mm barrell as well as a .357 sig barrell for it. And have the best of all 3 worlds. Can't do that if I went G17.

Plus I just scored a sweet deal!! A Gen 3 G22 that appears to be in excellent condition. (90+%) Comes with 3 mags (I know they come with 2 brand new, So I'm only getting 1 extra mag and I'm not sure if they are hi cap or not?) and night sights. Not sure what kind of condition they are in? But I won it on GB for only $350!! I'll have to pay an extre $30 to ship and my local gunshop another $25. But I still think it's a good deal:)

This will be my new home defense pistol.:eyebrow:

You will enjoy shooting this pistol. I picked up a police trade-in G22 a couple of years ago from Bud's. Never was a Glock guy, but these are solid, no nonsense, self defense tools. It fits my hand well and points very naturally. Recoil isn't bad and muzzle flip is okay, so follow up shots are accurate if you do your part.

Pick up a half dozen spare mags and some 165 gr. Speer Gold Dots and you'll be ready to rock!

Thanks for all the congrats and advice

I just got word from the seller that all 3 mags are hi caps and the night sights are about 5 years old. So I'm not sure how well they will glow at night.

I do plan on getting a 3.5 ghost rocket connector on it. As well as purchasing a 9mm comversion barrell and a few 15 rd mags and maybe a 22rd happy stick or two.

Five year old night sights should be fine for several more years. I believe that discernable fade starts around year 8 or 9 or so.
My Trijicon brand sights advertised a 10 year life span.

That's good to hear:smile: I'm not sure what brand of night sights they are? I'll update this thread when the pistol arrives.

Thanks for the heads up on the Speer 165grs as well. In my G&A Handguns magazine Dave Spaulding recomends 155-165gr HP loads that are moving at 1,100 fps or faster. He says the Speer GD's and Federal HST's appear to lead the way.

Picked up the G22 from my local gun store today and I'm very happy with it.

Found out that it was a former law enforcemant pistol. The right side of the grip has a scratch on the side. I'm thinking that's probably because it was in a right handed holster and probably rubbed up beside things on it's right side. Besides that it looks great on the outside. The night sights are Glock night sights and glow well when the lights are off. The end of the barrell shows a little wear. But the rest of it looks like new. Broke it down and there is no wear on the rails. All three mags are high cap law enforcement mags. Came with original Glock hard case, cleaning brush, Lock and mag loader. instructions manual, warranty card and the original factory fired casing.

Very happy with this purchase. Look forward to taking it to the range to put a hundred plus rounds through it, to test the mags and function reliability:eyebrow:
