Taking a group of anglers down to Pesca Maya in the Yucatan, leaving the day after tomorrow (figure I'll be too busy to pop in tomorrow).

I'll bring back photos ... I'd say I'd bring back cigars but there's actually no place reputable to buy them between the airport and where we're heading, without going a good piece out of the way ....:disappoin

So I'll safely assume ye're not going to Merida in the way. Well, at least ye got the cuisine from over there! Be sure to try for breakfast "huevos motuleños" and "huevos Uxmal"; then have some "pan de cazón", "panuchos", "salbutes", "cochinita pibil", "frijol con puerco", "queso relleno", "zic de venado", or "pipián de venado" (among others) later in the day; as well as desserts like "torta de cielo" and "dulce de papaya". All of the above is their regional cuisine and quite different from what most understand when thinking on Mexican cuisine.

Don't forget to try my favorite desert if available, torta de la leche tres. I've probably murdered the grammer. Thee milk cake to us gringos.

Hi all! Haven't been on much at all for quite some time... just don't seem to be able to break away from doing all of the other things that seemed to have lapsed while I was on before... guess ya gotta pay the piper once in a while.

Going to the Yucatan for 2 weeks starting December 20th. Flying into Cancun (and leaving immediately), Merida, Chichen Itza, and Akumal.

Mercer Cigars a reputable place? Seems to be from my research, but like always, I trust the Brothers more than the Internet.......

I'm heading to Cancun too, but not until February. I hear there is a reputable place there, but I don't know which one/where it is. I bough a couple cigars at my resort last time I was there...not sure where they were made, but they were good. I also bought a house cigar from there, rolled right in front of me. That was a great smoke!

Sounds like a great trip Dan, I hope you have a good time man!

I don't have any personal experience, but I've heard great things about Mercer.
