Punta Cana, to be exact. Anyone have any experience/advice from previous travels there? I know, I know, avoid the vanilla/glass-top/etc Cohibas. Anything else tho? Is there a LCDH around...I'd just want to look....

I can't wait to leave the cold for awhile!

I was in Punta Cana in October your in for a great trip. We stayed at Dreams Punta Cana, so I can only tell you what I found there. The cigar situation at the resort was not the best lots of fakes CC's, Opus, etc. I bought some no name sticks that where good morning cigars. My suggestion is to bring a good selection of your own sticks. Now the good news is that you could smoke almost anywhere! At the pool, in the pool, on the beach, watching the nightly show, etc! Dominican rum (Brugal) goes great with cigars, and watch out for the Mamawanna! Hope you have a great trip

Wouldn't you like to know?
Unfortunatly I found that the only decent place I found decent cigars was the airport. Even buying the no name cigars was iffy as you have to haggle like crazy. I found that any B&M in the US would get you better cigars cheaper and easier then was poosible in cigar store in punta cana.

Smoke the hand rolled Puros that come onto the resort. I bought around 6 or 7 for 20 bucks. Rolled in front of me at the resort. Still have pic white white ash and a great young cigar taste!
