Hey all. Name is Jared. Have been gone a bit, but have been smoking the whole time. Site looks good! A bit different then I remember. Picked up some new hobbies; motorcycles, guns, poker. I am sure I am missing a few in there. The good thing is, I can include a cigar with most of those. Still a huge 49ers fan. Heading out to California for my first home game in early October. Going to rent a bike out there and probably do some smoking as well. Cant wait.

Smoking wise, still have my wine-a-dor. Have some shelves from Forrest. (He still around?) They're great. Humidifying with beads, but am not loving it right now. Having some decent humidity swings that is kind of pissing me off. I am wondering if its because my stash is getting low. Have a 28 bottle, I think, and probably have 100 or so cigars in there spread out. I gotta start the restock. Couple of questions for y'all if you'll humor me.

Anything better than beads now? Something automatic?? There used to be the oasis I think, but people didn't love them.

Whats newer (within the past 3 years) and must have?? Want to try some things maybe I have missed. Around when I left, tat little monsters were huge, so that'll give you an idea of the timeline I guess.

What are some of your favorite cheaper cigars?? I remember some years back the La Perla purple label was good. Not sure now. But maybe some stuff that you smoke while in the yard, or not afraid to give to your drunk asshole buddy, but it still tastes good.

Every once in awhile, i'll smoke something and it'll taste like shit. I am quite sure that its my palate. Any new tricks for starting with a blank surface there?? Side note, I have really grown to appreciate dry boxing. Really seems to help some cigars. But sometimes its not feasible.

We still arguing about kitty litter :)

Thanks guys. Good to be back.

So, what's changed in 4 1/2 years? Look into Boveda's for your humidification needs. There have been ton's of cigars introduced. In addition to the suggestions from the members maybe read some of the "Best" lists for the last couple of years, that may be a good place to start.

Welcome back, enjoy your ride in California.

Welcome back from Southern California. I’m fairly new around here so I’ll leave the suggestions to the more knowledgeable in these parts. I will say though that I use Boveda packs in my wineador and so far they have held humidity perfectly.

I didn't know you before, but welcome back. So much has happened since you've been gone. Consensus has been reached. Boveda is the best humidification, cellos should be left on, 63.5% & 66F is the best storage conditions for ALL sticks, and sticks are at their best ROTT.

It's dangerous to go alone, take this.

wb my dude, quite a different crew around here these days but theyre (mostly) good guys so its basically the same

huh...you should check out foundation cigars, dunbarton and trust, cornelius & Anthony, southern draw, roma craft, fable, archetype, chogui, mombacho, fratello. there are probably other new brands that are worth looking into that i cant think of off the top of my head.

What are some of your favorite cheaper cigars?? I remember some years back the La Perla purple label was good. Not sure now. But maybe some stuff that you smoke while in the yard, or not afraid to give to your drunk asshole buddy, but it still tastes good.

foundation charter oak can be had for 3-5 per stick depending upon how good a deal you can find and is great, illusione rothschildren are always solid and come in multiple flavors now,

I dunno, i just take a break from smoking for a few weeks when it gets like that and usually when i come back to it sticks taste good again.

i dunno if its an argument...but ppl still talk about it all of the time at the very least

Thanks guys. Still having a look around to see what y'all are smoking. I had something recently, think it was called Tabernacle or something. Was pretty good. Going to try their other blends.

Sounds like I will get some bovedas. I have always used either HF beads or HCM (I think?) beads. All they do is just piss me off. I'll figure out what I need for Bovedas. Thanks again guys.
