I've been ordering from cigarbid for almost two years and have spent thousands of dollars there.

On Friday August 6 I won about 45 items for a total of $115 or so. I set my shipping preference to "daily" so it would ship Monday. It didn't. It was still "processing" that whole week and did not ship.

I started a thread in the cigarbid forums asking if others had the same issue. Some people chimed in that they did.

So I contacted cbid customer service via email and they said it would ship by the end of the week or, at the latest, the next Monday. It didn't.

But what did happen was they banned my account from posting in the forums. And today I tried to log into the site and it wouldn't allow me to even log in to check my orders, giving me an "Error 789. Please contact customer service."

When I tried to call customer service an automated message said that it was "after office hours" and I'd have to wait until Monday.

So at this point it appears that cigarbid has scammed me out of my money and is trying to prevent me from telling others and even logging in to the site itself. I'm going to have to initiate a chargeback and if that doesn't work I'll have to sue them in small claims court which will be a complete pain in the ass.

Just thought I'd let people know so they would think twice about placing bids at cigarbid.com. There are other bidding sites like Thompson Cigar auctions.

I've found a lot of times they take your money for goods they don't even have in stock and end up having to refund it ONLY after calling them, which is utter BS. I stopped visiting their site and dealing with CI in general from their lack of professional customer support.

No, it does not appear that cigarbid has scammed you. Poor service, absolutely. But this is not a scam. You will either get your cigars or your money back. I've never known anyone who didn't have one of those two things happen.

What you could do instead is just wait until Monday, call them to cancel the order, and get a refund.

Just thought I'd let people know so they would think twice about placing bids at cigarbid.com. There are other bidding sites like Thompson Cigar auctions.
You're kidding right? You had a bad experience with cbid so instead you want to go to... Thompsons? Really?

I've never been scammed by Thompson's. If I do, I won't hesitate to let the world know. :)

I have never had a problem with CBid and I have spent thousands as well. It may have been a high volume time; I'm sure they will make it right. I wouldn't get near Thompsons. Once they have my name then all hell breaks loose. Uh oh, I mentioned their name in a post, I think I'm dead.

My guess is that the reason you got banned from the forums is that someone thought you were stirring the pot too much. Nobody likes to hear that they have an ugly baby....just sayin.

If I were wearing my tinfoil hat I might think that they aren't shipping to you because you got the items you won so cheaply that they are losing too much money on them. I'm guessing if you call them on Monday and act rationally with the person you speak with you will get it sorted out though. Just be sure and move your shipments back to "weekly" before you bid on anything else so you don't get killed with shipping charges.

This seems a little irrational. I've never had an issue. Wait till they are back in, and talk with them. Why do you think they would want to start shitting where they eat?

cigarbid is legit. Keep talking with customer service and they'll make sure you either get your cigars or a refund. Be polite, but let them know you're very unhappy with this situation.

Have seen this thread before under another ID ( don't worry, I won't out you )...in another Forum and to escalate it to this one speaks volumes to me. There are a number of recourses that one can take and you sir, have taken the worst one possible by peddling your story to anybody who will listen. I've used CBID and always have had a positive experience...even when they screwed up and they have a few times. I talked with a Supervisor instead of the person at the other end of the line...sometimes you have to go over somebodys head to get something fixed. If you still feel that you were treated badly then dispute the charge on your Card....you'll get instant credit back but you will have to prove to your Card Member Services that you made attempts to fix the issue...that means emails and calls...document who you talked with and what days you called.

Let's say that where you do business that somebody feels they have been cheated and you are being accused....do you want them to resolve the issue or are you ok with them running up and down the street telling anybody who will listen that you screwed them over? From what I gather you think that they should be open 24/7 and get back to you immediately....where you work are they staffed with that same kind of business model? Try to be fair and once you have exhausted all that you can do and have documentation to prove your claim....then that's another story. It takes years to develop a reputable name and seconds to destroy one....treat others as you'd want to be treated....just sayin.

An afterthought just hit me....you talked about talking in the CBID Forum about this incident...I'd be interested in what you said on that Forum...it must have been pretty "raw" in order for you to be banned so quickly. It's easy to come here and "clean it up" w/o really posting what you said on that Forum. As far as you saying "it appears as if you've been scammed" is pretty damning esp. since you don't know if you were and I'd have to say at this point you haven't been scammed. It's Sunday....Monday will be here soon enough and I'd encourage you to make a call to the Supervisor and get to the bottom of it. You don't have to go Small Claims Court....this is another naive' statement that tells me that you aren't versed in disputes nor how to handle them. CBID demands a current credit card to bill you for items won in auctions....it's easy to dispute a purchase and 9 times out of 10 your purchase will be credited to your account within 24 hours. We'd all be interested in how things turn out after you make the call on Monday...who you talked to...how it was resolved....etc. Sometimes the walk of shame starts with somebody jumping the gun way before it was necessary and words don't taste very good when you have to eat them because you didn't learn a lesson beforehand....this may be an invaluable lesson for you.

And as always the voice of reason appears. Thanks cigary43
