I was browsing through B & N's music section yesterday with my wife when I heard this young lady come belting out of the speakers. I was instantly captivated by the haunting similarities to several other female singers I like. She has the intensity and flare of a Janice Joplin, the no nonsense soulful sound of Bonnie Raitt, a rock bottom in your face sound of Shaun Murphy (little feat), influenced by the delta blues and the southern spiritual with a uniqueness that smacks you around wanting some more.
"Nothing But The Water" is their latest album (may be their only IDK) it also comes with a DVD of about 5 songs performed live in Burlington, VT. The live performance leaves little doubt that this young lady with an old soul is the real deal. No digital re-mastering here, just some real good music from the heart. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
