Hi everybody,
Thought I'd introduce myself here
I'm a 27 year old guy from Belgium and I have been smoking cigars for about 4 years now.
I started my journey with cigars from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua (mainly because I wanted to try the different things that were out there without having to pay big bucks, or euros, for the cubans) and slowly rolled into the Cuban department as time passed by.
I've been gradually expanding my collection every year that has gone by and today my collection exists out of about 45 boxes and two beautiful porcelain jars. However I really love that typical Cuban flavor of earth and leather I'm becoming less and less willing to keep up with all the new and "limited" releases that they are bringing to the market.
Mostly because:
A - They are way more costly than the regular releases
B - They aren't allways as good or better than the regular releases
C - The last years the demand seems to have gone up and the cigars are being shipped way too young from the factories. I mean, come on what's the use of buying a box of cigars just to let them sit for another year to be able to enjoy them?
The non cuban segment (while it is far more difficult for me to find cigars that match my pallette) on the other hand has some beautiful cigars to offer that are ready to smoke once they hit te market.
This is one of the reasons why I signed up here. I hope to find some new Quality non-cuban smokes here and discuss about it with you guys
Top of Cuban cigars:
- Juan Lopez Distinguidos
- La Gloria Cubana Tainos
- Romeo Y Julieta Cazadors (properly aged)
- Cohiba 1966
- H. Upmann No. 2
Some non cubans I really like:
- Arturo Fuente Shark Anejo
- Arturo Fuente Opus X
- God of fire
- Illusione Epernay
- Don Pepin Garcia JJ Maduro
And off course as any good Belgian, I love the occasional beer with my cigar. A nice trapist or a tripel will never fail to get me happy :ccool:
There,
I hope my english isn't too bad for you guys and if so... I'm sorry but it's not my native tongue
I'm gonna try to post some pictures of my collection somewhere on the forum once I found the appropriate subsection to do this in.
