What do you guys think about the recent H.Upmann Half Coronas? I only have one box dated August 2012 and I think they are fantastic, but I've read a few people say the current ones aren't as good as the older ones. I'm not talking age being a difference, just the flavor. But I haven't tried any recent ones for myself and was wondering what other people think?

I think that the original boxes were the best for sure. Fresh ones have been good but the blend altogether seems a little different. Post sick phase it will be easier to compare but I do think that they were better, yes.

I smoked through a box of the first release, and a box of a more recent release (well, 20 so far)...I think they are both great and didn't taste any difference in the blend whatsoever.

Never smoked any from 2012 - I recently acquired a 2013 box. I've burnt through 10 so far and all have been great -- albeit a little fresh -- and consistent.

I haven't had any 2013 HUHCs either, but to piggy back on Ryan's thread if he doesn't mind, how are you guys finding the 2013s to be in general? Better/worse than 2012 or to early to tell?

I have a box from early 2013 and the one I sampled from it was pretty bad ROTT, possibly still in sick hoarse. I'm just letting them rest for year and working through a box of El Principes in the meantime.

Actually prefer the 2012 to the 2011...probably because I only have 1 box of the 2011!

But seriously, with the same amount of rest, they all taste like crack.

So I've gotta ask: Are these worth the money?

They're quite a bit more expensive than other CC short smokes. But, damn they look tempting.

At $107, they seem right in line. That being said, they have become my go-to morning cigar.

That's quite a bit cheaper than I can get them. At that price, they seem much more reasonable.

At just a hair over the cost of Baitfish on Monster, and almost a buck under a Papas Fritas, I'd say they're roughly in line
