I have a hard time removing the bands from my cc's. i can smoke the cigar all most to the point of burning the band and the glue still holds solid. i save the bands and frame them, so damaging them really ticks me off. all nc bands seem to come off so effortlessly. even before the cigar is even lit (sometimes)
usually i smoke down as far as i can then just pull the band off over the end.
most of the time i can get away with it without hurting the cigar and i can continue puffing away. only sometimes it wrecks the rest of the stick and i end up letting it die out.
anyone else notice this difference between the bands of nc and cc's???
any other tricks i can try????

The only ISOM bands that consistently give me trouble are Trinidads. Sticky thin little bastards.

If you want to get extreme, I've heard that you can steam them to get the glue to loosen up.

I actually have alittle pair or sugical scissors that my girfriend brought me (unused) from her office. They work great when I'm afraid that I'm going to pull part of the wrapper off with the band.

I had a guy send me a handful of Cohiba bands to put on some lighters, and I have a hell of a time getting them apart without tearing the surfacing off of them. I think they use real *GLUE* type glue while the NC makers have access to technology similar to that used in post-it pads.

Thanks.

i suppose i could wait till im done smoking the stick and then steam it off, but by that point im most likely just to slip it off and wreck the cigar.

I like that idea...a nice small thin pair of scissors is in order

Either the scissors or smoke it down almost to where the band is and let the heat help release the glue....

That's what I do when I'm not at home - whipping out the "band scissors" in public draws a little too much of the wrong kind of attention. Then again, so do I.
