Thanks guys. I actually started tailgating for today a couple days ago. I decided from Friday evening through today, I would smoke only the best I have. So far that has been a Partagas 150, A Vegas Robaina 5th Ave., '04 Bolivar gold medal, '04 PLPC, custom rolled Partagas Salamone, '05 Esplendido, and a '98 Fundadore. I won't mention the '03 Partagas EL which was a huge disappointment.

I had a friend come over early yesterday as his birthday is tomorrow, we always get together. I had to cook 24 chickens and two boston butts so we made a day of it. I cook with wood coals slowly shoveled under the meat. Took about 3 hours for the chicken and 7 for the pork. I used an eastern Carolina sauce on both. We had a bunch of folks drop in over the course of the day and evening. I opened the humidor, liquor cabinet, and fired up the hot tub. It was a rolling casual get together, perfect for the VERY stressful week last week. Part of which included losing out beautiful, sweet 2 yr old rough collie (think Lassie) to Rocky Mountain spotted fever.

Not sure what the wife and family has planned for today, they are still in bed.

Well today didn't quite go the way I would want. My favorite aunt passed away today. She was like my second mom, actually she was my mom's sister. Always been very close to her. Traveled all over the U.S. and a couple trips to Europe with her and her husband. Spent three weeks in Sicily with them in '06. In their 80's and in great shape. No meds and could eat and drink with the best of them. Needless to say quite a shock. Since my parents dies 30 yrs ago these two have been like my parents.

So tonight raise a toast to Aunt Kay and Uncle ED. She will be missed and Uncle Ed will need your prayers. He's devastated. This is a tough one.

Sorry to hear this, mate. I'll be sure to raise a glass to them.

A Belated Happy B'day to you Charlie. I'm glad you at least had a good time on Saturday after a rough week. I am very sorry for your loss yesterday. Your Aunt Kay and Uncle Ed are in my thoughts and prayers.
