Hey guys, check it out. My sister-in-law and I paired up with this couple from a town about an hour north of us and entered a Rock Band Tournament together. Before our first performance we had only talked online and played over XBOX Live
Well, we qualified for the local finals two weeks ago by beating three other bands and last week we actually won the local final at the Horseshoe Casino in Council Bluffs! We beat out five other bands.
Next Friday we are being flown to Chicago(East Chicago/HAmmond, IN area) for the Regional Final. In Chicago we will be competing against five other local winning bands for a trip to Atlantic City for the National final and a chance at $10,000 cash!
At the local venues the competition was solely based on highest score so we were basically able to just sit on stage and play a video game. In Chicago, and all the other Regional finals, the in game score is worth 50% of our overall score, the remainder is based on stage presence, style, and overall performance. We have been working real hard on mastering our song selection and get our movements down. I will be sporting a mohawk and some old Army camo cut off at the knee. We're still working on getting the girls to come out of their shells and show a little skin to try and win over any male judges. LOL
