Has Anybody had a chance to try the new Joya De Nicaragua Gran Reserva yet??

Those that have, how would you compare the flavor profile to the standard 1970 line?

I'm so excited to try these. I love JDN.

Definitely worth trying! I feel like it still has the kick, but turned up a little bit in the flavor and strength profile. To me it smokes/tastes much more crisply than the 1970 which I still love. Let me know if you agree once you've tried one.

I'm definitely going to try it! That sounds like a great difference. Is there any change in the flavor notes?

From what I remember the 1970's flavor notes were all still there with the addition of more black pepper, spice, cedar, cinnamon, some sweetness as well as a creamier mouth feel while the original flavors were all just much more bold and pronounced.

I also felt as if the flavors were more distinguishable and didn't meld together like the 1970 that I smoked. I still have another 1970 and gran reserva left so I plan on smoking them back to back on two subsequent mornings before I eat anything to see if I can come up with any more differences/similarities.
