At my old job I had Trigon Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Delta Dental and AFLAC. When I left I was without insurance for 5 months since COBRA was way too expensive. Now I have Assurant Catastrophic coverage with a $5000 deductible and a Health Savings Plan. Not nearly as good as the old but one of the drawbacks of working for a young start-up company. We can't afford the good group policies.

I have vsion insurance that is recently new and have yet to receive the card.

Overall I am very pleased with our insurance program here and my employer pays for a very large portion of it.

Correction:
I just opened a letter from Assurant telling me I have been denied coverage because I've been treated in the past for Type II diabetes and hypertension. What bullshit! So 18,000,000 Americans are now uninsurable?
What's even more bullshit is that I've modified my diet and exercise habits and am now staying at normal blood glucose and blood pressure levels with no medication. WTF?

Not yet. I just found out this evening. I've been walking around for a month thinking I was covered.
To some extent I can understand the pre-existing condition thing since it could potentially cost them money in the future but it doesn't seem fair that I can't get coverage for something unrelated, like a broken leg, due to the fact that I used to have high blood glucose.
