So a few years back I took a 2 week trip to Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic; and while there we drank as much of the local beer as we could. I absolutely fell in love with "Hefeweiss" aka unfiltered yeast white beer which we call Hefeweizen. My fridge ALWAYS has Widmer Hefeweizen as it is my go to beer. I have been drinking dozens of types of craft beers from Pliney the Elder to Lagunitas Sucks but nothing compares to even cheap Hefeweizens to me. I am slowly accepting the fact that hoppy beers and beers with high IBU's just don't seem as enjoyable to me. With that being said I have a local bottle shop with over 1200 craft beers in stock and have just been going there and picking up a few bottles every week to enjoy. I want to mix up my variety but am having a hard time finding something as enjoyable. What would you guys recommend I try for a good Hefeweizen or similar type beers?

When i have to drink a HW beer I always get Crystal variety as I like it filtered, hold the orange. I prefer to drink Pils when I'm in Germany as I don't care for wheat beer. Just me.

I used to drink Franzikaner (probably spelled wrong) a lot when I was stationed in Turkey. I know Erdinger is a well known hefe brewery, along with Weinstephaner. Schneider makes Aventinus and some lower alcohol varieties.

For domestics you could try Sierra Nevada Kellerweis, Victory Moonglow if you can get it (great with hot wings), and I'm sure there are others but I'm not familiar with most of the domestic producers. Widmer is a very well known one. In fact interesting fact about them. They don't use traditional hefeweizen yeast, they use a normal ale yeast I think, and just do a long ferulic acid rest in their mash regime. That yields the flavors of a hefe just more subdued. So I guess you can call it a hefeweizen light.

Weihenstephaner Hefe should be right there at the top of your grocery list based on your likes Nick, it's excellent.

I've got an Imperial Hefe (King Hefe I think it's called) i'm anxious to try but haven't yet, from Howe Sound.

Franziskaner, Paulaner, Hacker Pschorr are readily available for me in Jersey and always fit the bill.

I find the most of the larger US "craft" brewers do a pretty crappy job with wheat beers.

A few others....

Albeit not "Hefe", just saw the part about similar styles and these might be worth a try...

Duvel
Hoegaarden

And for Domestic:

NorthCoast Pranqster
Blue Moon - used to drink this quite a bit in Summers past with a nice slice of Orange. Pretty popular, so you may have had already. Once I found Hoegaarden, I stopped buying this...Hoegaarden is better IMO.

Not a traditional hefe by any means, but Rogue's half-a-weizen excellent. Its an homage to Mo, the matriarch of the Mo's seafood restaurants, and has a really nice "herbal" sorta thing going. Normally I don't approve of "herbs" in my beer, but the half-a-weizen is an exception.

Thank you all for the great advice! I made a list of all of the suggested ones and will be picking a lot of the ones mentioned up if they are available in stock.

Had plenty of Blue Moon/shock top and then that lead to Pyramid hefeweizen then that lead to widmer hefeweizen(mainly b/c I can get it cheaper on sale). I have seen Hoegaarden multiple times but havent had it yet, This will for sure be one of the ones I pick up on my next purchase.
