Wreck 'em Tech
Hello all,
Thought I would re-introduce myself as I have been away from this great place for quite some time.... Like fell off the face of the earth one day, away from this place. This may get a little long winded, so if you bore easily you may want to skip to the next thread.
There are a few FOG's around here that will remember me... sucks for them . Lots of great times back in 2011 - 2013. Due to life events, things beyond my control, and a few poor choices on my part, I needed to step away for a bit.. (ok, a long long time...) When I stepped away, I mean I havenent aquired a cigar in for freaking ever... 2 years or so, but for a long while I was very active around here. My drama and personal problems had no place to be posted here for the world, nor did I want to bring down the mood of this place, and at that point in my life, there is no way I could have been a productive member of this forum, or kept my bad attitude and outlook on things out... That resolved - Here we go... I have also relocated to Keller (DFW area), so my Amarillo addy is no longer a danger.
Right before I left in 2013, I jumped into the Pipe baccy ordeal and found I really like pipes, and my wife certainly likes that aroma much better. Anywho, I have a modest collection of mostly HTF stuff that are of the non habanos variety... Goldie, LP, Tat, Viaje, Padron..... Problem is, I have diligently caring for these gars, relocated them, etc... and almost never smoke them any more. When I have time, I grab the pipe, and outside of the golf course and a few "special" occasions, I just dont have the time that I used to have. This has done a few things (A) rested some great cigars, (B) may have caused some too much rest, (C) made me realize that I dont get to smoke near as much as I used to. One result is that if I am going to smoke - It will certainly be something I really like. While there are a ton of great smokes out there, chasing the HTF, LE, Next best thing cigars will be kept to a minimum. Yes, I know that many a better man has made that claim before and failed... but that is my goal... Smoke only what I like, dont worry too much about the rest.... Yea, yea, how will I know what I like if I dont try new things???? I dunno, I'll work on that when I get there.
So, why the re-introduction you ask... Well, I want to get back to the brotherhood of BOTL as it is an amazing place with an amazing group of guys. I also want to enjoy the friendship around this place. There is a whole lot of great conversation and camaraderie like no where else, get to know a few new folks along the way and smoke some great baccy. With that said, I also know I have 2 humis and a coolidor filled with a bunch of stuff I will not get to smoke due to time, change in taste, or just to let others have a chance to enjoy them. Some will be bombed out in time, others sold (if any takers), traded, yada yada yada, you get the picture.
I like golf, cigars, fly fishing and do all of them less than I would like, but more than I most likely deserve. My family means the world to me, graduated from (you guessed it) Texas Tech with my degree in Architecture. Recently moved to Keller Texas from Amarillo, love coffee, write exclusevily with a fountain pen, and enjoy long walks on the beach.... yea, it started sounding like a personals add.....but serious about the fountain pen.
Glad to be back, look forward to meeting some new folks, and getting this cigar thing kicked back up.
If you are still reading at this point.... WTH??? You must have absolutely nothing going on at the moment.....

Oh yea - what is with the points thing and this place has had some major upgrades.....
