new to the whoe cigar thing a bit. i've smoked cigars on occasion, but never regularly. i just received my new humidor from thompsons. (i know. it's the only thing i've ordered from them.) i've ordered a few cigars from CI as well. i still don't know what like, but i've enjoyed rocky patels and perdomos. i've also gotten some gurkhas cuz i've heard good things about them as well. the thing is, i don't want to try the spendier sticks until i can appreciate them a bit more.
i'm sure i'll be around with questions as i learn what to ask, but until then, hello.

Welcome to BOTL!!

That's a pretty good way to approach getting started into cigars. It's a good idea to try as many kinds of cigars as you can for awhile so you can decide what your likes and dislikes are. My advice would be to try a couple of a particular cigar. Sometimes you can get a dud in a normally really good line of cigar, so it's a good idea to try a couple just to give it a fair shake.

Welcome aboard you seem to be on the right track its always good to try and build up your palette before trying some high end sticks. Do check out the newbie sampler thread just to get a few suggestions on what to try.
