This is my first post on BOTL.
My name is Jim and I live in NW Indiana, and work in Chicago as the manager of a team of computer support engineers (mainframe).
I belong to any number of cigar related sites, go by JimboP whenever I can get that handle (apparently there are other people named Jim with a last name beginning with "P", go figure).
I've been smoking cigars pretty much daily for 5 years or so, usually one per day but sometimes two. I don't smoke in the house so in warmer weather I'm usually out on the back deck in the sun or on the front covered porch in the rain. During cold weather (like now) I have a smoking area set up in my garage complete with a propane heater and an electric space heater.
I was going to fix up a room in our lower level to be my man room but I decided against it because we don't plan to live here forever and I don't think that any amount of ventilation or air purification would make a room completely smoke free - not a selling point.
I am on a quest for a decent sub-$3 daily smoke so I can save the more expensive sticks for the weekend. I have made many, many purchases on Cbid and get suckered into at least two CI daily deals per month. I have two buddies that I usually go in with on purchases and we end up trying a lot of different kinds.
My all-time favorite brand is Gran Habano - I like every one of them especially the Blue Label torpedo.
Bowling night is Friday - tonight I have a La Gloria Cubana dbl corona to try at the alley. It's the most expensive stick in my humi at $22 but it's the Friday before Christmas and I can enjoy it in the relative warmth of the bowling alley (compared to my freezing garage).
Well, smoke on!

Jim

Welcome bro, I don't have a sub 3 recommendation but I will tell you that I think you should give the Viaje Platino a try. It is a moderately priced cigar 6 - 8 bucks and is made by none other than the creators of your favorite Gran Habano. Just a thought.
