Hello all! What follows is my attempt at the proverbial intro post. I figured before I started putting my 2cents in anywhere else, I would take care of this.
I have to admit, I have lurked this forum for quite some time. I realized how often I was reading posts here for thoughts/advice and I figured it was time to sign-up and participate.
I am 38, going on 39 years old, I have 3 kids (20, 16, 1.5) and I am the CEO for a boutique consulting firm. While smoking, I enjoy drinking Redbreast Irish Whiskey, Woodford Reserve bourbon, dark rums and good beer.
My intro to cigars started with my grandfather who raised me in my early, more formidable years. He was a regular cigar smoker outdoors and a pipe smoker indoors (I can still smell that sweet aroma). I couldn't wait to be old enough to be as cool as he was, HA! Anyway, I started smoking cheap cigars like Phillies and Backwoods in my late teens. Better cigars sporadically in my early twenties. In 2000, I started smoking more frequently, but I still really had no clue. I would only buy Macanudo's as that was the first "real" cigar brand my father introduced me to and I was too cool to ask for help. Additionally, I think the biggest limitation to my smoking frequency was based on financial limitations in my younger years.
Something clicked for me about 4yrs ago and since, I average a stick a day (3 or more on weekends and Wednesday nights (bocce night). I now have a Newair 281E Wineador that has already overflowed stock into desktop humi's. I may be even more obsessed with buying cigars as I am with smoking them. I find myself sharing way too often, just so I can make another purchase.
Some of my favorites are the Liga line from DE, La Reloba Sumatra, My Father Le Bijou 1922, CyB & Antano from JdN, Illusione No. 2 & MK, Oliva Serie V & MB3 and Perdomo Lot 23 & Habano Maduro.
All of that being said...I am still learning and looking forward to continuing my education here.
