Relatively new to "serious" smoking since i just started in December.

I was a grab a 3 pack from the B&M by my house and go fishing or golfing or whatever. My wife saw that i really enjoyed it and got me a humidor for christmas. I joined the board from the site where she got the humidor deal and have been hooked ever since. Played in weekly poker for cigars, won a few cigar contests and found the devil incarnate (cbid) and now i have a 200ct and a few 20ct humidors and am working on filling up the 200ct. Next step apparently is a coolerador, but i am a ways away from that point.

have loved the mild summer in STL this summer and have started to venture out into various B&Ms in the area.

I have been involved with online communities for a long time with my job (technology) and figured i would venture out to a few of the bigger sites like this to get my feet a little more wet with the online cigar community.

False. You joined this site. Congratulations on falling of the cliff. And welcome from Milwaukee!
oh i am a WAYS away from that......I am man enough to admit that my wife has a tight hold on my wallet. Well, unless you guys play poker for cigars.....then i might be able to expand my collection. :)

I'm new to this site but not cigars, welcome. This summer has been great, especially given last year's sucky 100+ for 21 straight days weather. And, yes, just pull the trigger on larger storage; it's the most cost-effective means of storage. I just bought a vinotemp 28 last week. My 100 ct and 165 ct just weren't cutting it. Check out the Hill Cigar Co and Jon's Pipe Shop in Clayton. Great staff, good selection and good prices. There's a new place in Soulard (Gran Cru) too, haven't been there yet. Enjoy.

I'm good with the 200ct right now. I work in education so i am not a wealthy man......after my wife almost cutting my balls off after hitting cbid i imagine that the 200ct will be good for a while.

yeah, i have like the Hill more than any other that i have gone to, but i am relatively young and feel out of place in there. I'm holding hope that the soulard is a little younger of a crowd.

thanks for the welcome and welcome to you!

Can't PM yet. No worries on the Hill, don't feel outta place there--especially there or Jon's--or anywhere for that matter. There is only one place in StL I don't like, unfortunately it's my "neighborhood" shop. There is a RomaCraft event at the Hill Co on Nov 2, around 1200 I think. As far as budget goes, I start my first big-boy job Thursday, so I get it. Maybe a box split is in our future, haha. Also, Tinderbox/vinotemp 100 in Des Peres (Trader Joes plaza) is a good place for a cigar and a drink.

i'm going to assume you are talking about alcorns......that's my neighborhood shop too. Great selection, great prices, just not a different vibe and I always feel out of place there.....but they have the best singles prices as far as i can find.

I love the Hill. I haven't been in a couple of years since I moved away (went to MICDS and took some classes at UMSL during summers), but if J is still there, he's one hell of a guy. I was always put off by JR's because I felt profiled by my age. Welcome to the board
