Well as the title says my name is Andrew. I was given my first real cigar when I was about 16. I was in New Orleans with my aunt, she went into a smoke shop bout a square cigar (I do not remember what kind of cigar it was.) had it lit and I guess didn't like it. After leaving the shop she asked if I wanted it, my initial reaction was to look at her like shes crazy because at that time I had still assumed cigars were just over sized funny smelling cigarettes. After voicing my opinion about them at the time she told me to just give it a shot, so I did and that was the last time I ever assumed that cigars are just funny smelling death sticks. I never went off and learned a whole lot about cigars I would just go buy one even 6 months to a year and just smoke it not thinking much about it and enjoying the very rare smoke. Some times I would buy one and just let it die in my car back home, because it never was something that sparked a huge interest in me until I joined the Army and got deployed.
Now after being here in Afghanistan for a few months some of the guys started ordering cigars and it sparked that interest in me that I was lacking before. So I started learning up on the different types of cigars and what different one's look, smell, and taste like. I realized I want to try all the different one's I can, so I ordered my first 5 cigars. It was a package deal from CI that came with a small 5 cigar herf-a-dor, lighter, and 5 Acid Kuba-kuba's. After about a week or so I got my smokes in and was pretty excited to try them out. I ended up giving 3 to people that are ordering their own and said they are willing to do a 1 for 1 trade. I smoked the other 2 and ordered the brown bag sampler from CI as well I am still in the process of smoking those cigars right now.
I was turned on to this sight by one of my NCO's who is a big cigar kind of guy that told me if there is a good forum to go to that will help me out with finding new cigars and guide me in the right direction as to where to be able to further extend my knowledge of cigars, this is the place to be. Being that I am still only a PFC in the army I am not exactly "raking in the dough." If you guys know of any good deals that I would be able to try a good number of different types of cigars for a fair price, that would be greatly appreciated. I am not looking for free or trying to mooch by any means. It pisses me off when I get those guys that are trying to hit me up for a smoke with no intentions of returning the favor, I'm not rich trade, pay, or find your own.
Thank you for any help and advice.
