Can you get into Programs + Accessories + System Tools + System Restore and set it back to a date when it was working OK? Many viruses attack the system restore option also, but you might try that anyway and maybe catch a break.

The system restore may or may not end up working, but assuming it does, it sounds as if you need better system security. I recommend installing Kaspersky Internet Security. It's kind of spendy, maybe a little difficult to learn how to use, but it will stop pretty much anything from attacking your computer.

Dave's idea/suggestion is probably gonna be your best bet Brad, got my fingers crossed that it works for you my friend!

Trend Micro is a very good security program too.

Thing to figure out first is if you're still infected, or if the infection is gone and now we're cleaning up the mess it left. First off, scan your computer again, with two different tools. My personal favorites are MalwareBytes Anti-Malware and SpyBot. You'll want to scan, clean, reboot, and scan again. Some of these things will resist removal, or are automatically re-installed by something your anti-malware didn't detect. If that's the case, you may need to identify the strain of malware and follow a specific removal guide for that issue. If you're clean, we just need to figure out what it broke on it's way in (or out).

You should probably psychologically prepare yourself for the possibility that will need to reinstall your OS. It's actually a fair bit easier than it sounds if you kept the disks that came with your computer. The real trick will be making sure you got all your files and such off *before* you wipe it. Do you have a USB drive, or another computer on the network you can start bailing things out to?

Swat: Recover didn't work, I tried different dates, But thanks for the info

Charles: I have used MalwareBytes Anti-Malware , Spybot, AVG, I ran all these until i got no more hit from the scans, But there is something still there...grrrrrr
I just got off Dell Chat, but they want me to call them for a fee....
I have heard about wiping the system clean, I run a HP Simple Save on the system so I think it is ALL backed up..... I know when we wipe a system clean at work it is a long and drawn out process.

If i wipe the system clean, will it speed the system up ?? Like back to what it used to be ?? (yes the system is very slow no)
Damn it I told myself I shouldn't be looking at all that Porn....(hell i have to laugh about it , it only money right???)

Thanks Guys

A fresh load of the OS will absolutely help performance. Some of the performance loss over the life of a machine is simply the result of newer software expecting more computing power than your older machine has available. Nothing but an upgrade will fix that. Some of the performance, however, is lost to issues that naturally crop up over the life of a machine, which are wiped clean by a fresh reinstall.

If you choose to do this, you'll need a few things:
1. Another computer or another way of getting online to talk to us if you have a problem.
2. A Windows installation disk, and a valid license key. If this is a Dell you should have gotten a green-labeled CD with the system. The license key will be on a sticker on the side of the case, but you're unlikely to actually need it.
3. Drivers for all your hardware. Again, dell should have provided a driver disk with the PC. I believe this one will be brown, but I could be wrong. Worst case you can download the necessary drivers from support.dell.com.
4. Installation media for any software you need. Check your start menu and see what programs you run on a regular basis. For anything you need make sure you know where to get installers, whether it be CDs you tossed in a drawer, or websites where you downloaded the software.
5. A complete backup! Once the new system is installed it's too late to go back and get the files you forgot to transfer. I don't know much about HP SimpleSave. Before you trust it make sure it's set to back up everything that's important to you, and make sure it's successfully done so recently. Be certain you're familiar with the process to execute a restore of your files. It couldn't hurt to even do a test restore now of a few files to make sure the whole thing works as you expect.

Prepare yourself in this way and the whole thing will go very smoothly. Skip a few steps and it may not. If you still feel like going forward, I'll send you an overview of how it's done. Just make sure you leave yourself several hours for everything (the machine will be doing the work for most of that time), and that you have a backup plan in case things don't go as expected.
