Help with custom 1911 grips

I was wanting to get a gift for one of my best buddies. He is a former soldier of the Army 75th Ranger Regiment. I really want to get him some functional, grips with the 75th Ranger logo engraved in them. He is a good friend of mine, and I believe he deserves a cool gift like this. I just feel like I should step it up from just giving him Opus X's his favorite smokes. Haha. If anyone has any websites or places they would recommend to me that I can get these made or find some pre-made grips would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Great idea, sadly i have no leads for you. I'm a fan of the ol GI grips myself.

Check VZ Grips. I don't know for sure that they do special requests, but they are great grips and I know they do some with logos. I believe Alumagrips does custom logos as well, I'm just not a fan of metal grips. You might also check out Wicked Grips. For wood, check out Esmerelda Grips. Tons of grip makers out there, one of them will work for what you are looking for.

I've seen 1911 grips with the 75th regimental crest for sale before, but they were bat specific (1/75th etc.) but that was around the Ft. Benning area. I have ordered from Wickedgrips in the past and their grips are a work of art, custom work is really expensive ($200+) and you will wait for 2-3 months for the finished product.

In addition to the others mentioned, look up Sarge's grips... I recall him doing custom work over top quality grips

Thanks guys. I appreciate the information. I will definitely look in to those sites and see what I can find. If I can not get him the custom ones with the 75th engraving, then I will probably just get him a good set I know he will like. It will have to be OD green though. Haha.

So I finally got a website that will make them, and a couple of designs I am going to send in. I am pretty excited. These are going to be SWEET!:gangfire:

I think I am going to use Custom Killer Grips. I am going to get him a set for a Kimber he has that will be solid black with the yellow "Ranger" tab on the outside grip. The inside grip I am going to have a little logo and words around the logo that says "Rangers don't die, they just go to hell and regroup."

The second set is for a Colt Officers and I am going to get those in a silver or white with his 75th 3rd Battalion tab on the inside and outside grips.

Thats at least where I have landed right now anyways. Haha.
