Hey guys! Just wanted to go ahead and introduce myself. My name is Steven, 28 and will be moving to Raleigh, NC at the end of August. I grew up in the Richmond VA but lived in Fairfax, VA (A Washington DC Suburb) for about 4-5 years and been living in Kerrville, TX which is about an hour West of San Antonio for about 8 months.
I've smoked my first cigar (A Romeo y Julieta 1875) about 2/5-3 years ago just out of sheer curiosity. I saw some videos on YouTube and just got interested in seeing what cigars are like. I still consider myself a novice smoker who only smokes a 2-3 a month. My favorites as of right now are the CAO La Traviata and the Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur. I also like to experiment with La Gloria Cubana, Rocky Patel, (I really want to try the Freedom Cigar) LFD and other various brands.
I love the social aspect of cigar smoking. Just kicking back at the local shop, enjoying a nice cigar, watching some sort of sporting event and just talking with fellow customers/smokers.
I want to explore cigars more. As soon as I move to Raleigh I'm planning to get a small (25-30 cigar) humidor and just start buying samplers online through sites like Thompson and JR Cigars. I also enjoy Craft Beer, Wine and Rum. I'm always trying to pair all with cigars (Usually ends up as a fail, but oh well)
I'd love to talk and learn more with you guys, and if anybody lives in the Raleigh NC area, I'd love to have a smoke with you once I move down there!!
Cheers,
Steven
