Smoking cigars has been shown to increase the risk of pancreatic and bladder cancer? BS...why don't they site the studies. My neighbor's brother just found out he has pancreatic cancer, just turned 40, and has 6 months to live. The guy never smoked a day in his life and ran marathons as well as did triathalons...a lean cut guy. You never know what is gonna kill you.

i always take medical advice from a dr. on msn and parade magazine.
i'm sorry, but this is the same tired old crap that is put out there by the morality police. shall we talk about the sure death from eating cheeseburgers. statistics can be made to say whatever a person wants them to say.
is it totally safe? is anything?
can you say george burns!!!

Being in the field of cancer research, I know of zero studies showing a direct causal relationship to cigar smoking and pancreatic cancer.

There was one study published a few years ago, but their conclusion was:

The use of cigars in never smokers showed a borderline significant increase of risk for pancreatic cancer ......The association between cigar use and the risk of pancreatic cancer needs to be confirmed in other study populations.

"Teach your children that cigar smoking is not cool."

I'll teach my son to think for himself thank you very much. Nevermind the death, destruction, low values, mixed messages and gratuitous violence in those movies - it's the cigars that are evil!!!

Taking the expelled gases from an object that is on fire into your body is not a symbol of health, and for good reason. I don't need some political hack writer to spell that out for me. However, in moderation it can be very relaxing and is much less harmfull than cigarettes, chew, snuff, illicit drugs, alcohol, not to mention how many over the counter products are pushed on people.

As far as i know, my grandma smoked pipes and occasionally cigars too… for a lot of years, i don't remember how many but it was for a long time, she also smoked cigarettes for quite a long time too and all she has right now is a little pain in her knee. She's 75years old.

Isn't there a WHO study that was put under wraps because it showed no statistical increase in cancer unless you were up around 5 or 6 cigars a day?
