How frequently does your wineador run?

Hi brothers I have a question. I have a 12 bottle newair wineador. I connected a Johnson controller to help keep the temp between 65-67 degrees and humidity is solid at 65%. I'm in central ny so the temps get into the 50s right now and the unit is turning on every 20 minutes or so and runs for about 5 minutes until it shuts off. Does that seem right or is there a leak somewhere? And oh yeah the room temp is about 68 degrees

That seems like a lot to me...

We keep our house at about 68 during the winter.. I kept my wineador set at 65.. It was able to keep a constant temp all day and only turn on for a few seconds a couple of times a day...

Whenever I opened the door it would kick on for less than a minute... Then be right back at temp..

FWIW.. mine was a little 12 bottle emmerson thermoelectric unit..

I don't even have a coolidor and that seems like a lot. If I were you, I'd hook up a Kill-A-Watt to it and see how much power its drawing. From there you can more reasonably estimate it cost. And remember its only spring if this is happening now you might not be very happy at all come summer. So the sooner you get it figured out the better. Good luck, brother.

If the humidity is staying solid at 65 then I doubt you have a leak. I have a newair 28 bottle wineador and leave it plugged in all day, no johnson controller and don't think one is necessary if you have a thermoelectric (but I could be wrong, I'm not an expert). I have no idea how often the fan runs on mine, all I know is that humidity is rock solid around 65 and temp stays at 66 (sometimes a few degrees lower depending on the ambient temp), so I'm happy

Yeah the humidity is solid and the temp is at 67 all the time. It's just weird on the Johnson control unit that temp goes up pretty quick. Might be something wrong with the etc unit

Living in Chicago and my cooler is in the basement. I have my CPU fans set to turn on every 3 hours and run for 5 minutes. Holds solid!

Well it looks like the placement was the issue. I relocated the sensor and it only turned on once in 8 hrs.

So I brought the wineador to my aunts house cause she has a basement that's pretty cool. It's like 55 to 60 down there and it was showing in the wineador it was 67 degrees. The seal is good. What the heck do u think it could be?

It's not going to drop to that temp right away. Give it a week or more....
