FINALLY finally settled into the new house and wanted to vent for a bit. Well I have not been very active on the boards lately because I have been moving. Back in May I relocated the family from Fort Hood TX to the Tucson AZ area. I have a few good buddies out here that I have known for years while serving overseas and they were kind enough to let me stay with them while I closed on a new house.

I found a nice house in the area for a great price so I decided to make an offer. The house was a bank owned foreclosure so the wife and I decided we would finance through said bank in order to speed up the whole process. Initially we were told 30 days to complete all the paperwork and be moved in. Well 60 days later (and numerous promises that we would close in the next few days) this bank decides that we no longer qualify for a loan through them! WTF!

Back to square one and very pissed off at the whole situation I find another lender and they complete all the paperwork in 2 weeks and we are all signed and ready to go. The only hold up is that our signed paperwork has to go to the owning bank for them to sign. We were told they would be signed within 3 days and we would be all done and ready for move in. So 4 days later I have my household goods delivered. Well the slow bank that owns the house does not get the paperwork signed within those 3 days and then somehow learns that my stuff was delivered and they demand we move everything out of the house before they will sign it over! WTF are you kidding me!!!!! I had to go rent a moving truck to pack everything into the truck. The truck sat on the curb 2 more days until the bank finally signed and I moved everything back from the truck to the house! I swear I will never deal with this messed up bank ever again! We had accounts with said bank that have since been closed.

We have not made our first payment on the house and guess who bought out our loan from our small time lender? You guessed it the motherfaucking bank that jerked me around for 2 months and then denied my loan at the last second and made me repack my house up before they would sign a paper they were supposed to have signed the week before! :argh: Needless to say I will be refinancing as soon as possible.

On top of all that I had to fly back to TX for a custody battle I have been going through since Oct of 2008. The judge was supposed to finally give me full custody of the children. I paid for my airfare out, rental car for the few days I would be there, and a hotel room. Around 8 bills for the whole trip but I figure it will be worth it since it will be the last time I have to go to this courtroom! I show up at the courtroom the next day and my lawyer quickly informs me that the judge is not going to hear the case today because the morning session ran into the afternoon. WTF. 8 bills down the drain and I get to do it all again in October! It will officially be 2 years that I have had my children and I am hoping that it will all get resolved. Supposedly its a special session and no other cases will get scheduled to make sure I get heard (not holding my breath).

Has been a long stressful summer for me but finally getting settled. Now have my internet set up so I will be a bit more active on the boards. Now the question of the day is any of you guys from the Tucson area know where there is a good cigar lounge or bar??? :dunno:

Wow, that's an ordeal to say the least. I wouldn't want to have any dealings with that bank either, but if they keep treating customers that way I can't imagine they'll be open too long. You may not have to seek refinancing, they may get bought out .

Holy chit J, all that is a bummer. I've heard buying a house is one of the most stressful times in a person's life. And then toss all the BS I know that it wasn't easy.

As far as refinancing goes. Your mortgage will get sold several more time in the next few years. And if you refi, you'll have more closing costs, appraisals, BS, and then the hated bank will just buy that loan as well. Just food for thought.

Does the bank's name start with a B and ends with an A with an "of" somewhere in the middle? Bastages!

Thanks for the update. I hope it was therapeutic for you. Glad to know you'll be hanging around here more. Yeah, banks suck in normal conditions with this housing market and all the $$$ the government sank into it, the sharks are circling even more viciously than before.

Hang in there Jay. I know it seems bleek at times but everything works itself out with time. My wife and I spent our 20's in a custody battle 10 years for real. It was hard but we kept our faith and things worked out in our favor. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Keep up a good attitude, because it can only get better at this point. There are a couple decent shops in Tucson. I'll try to dig up the names. Only been to Tucson once, but I found a shop that had a nice selection.
