So today I tried my first Cu Avana Punisher...WOW. I couldnt finish it cause I want able to enjoy it due to my lips and tongue being on fire (to boot I am already a wuss when it comes to spicy foods). But it made me wonder, when is it to much? Have you guys tried the Punisher or any cigars like it, and were you able to enjoy it? And what were those cigars? Is there a point when it stops being enjoyable, and just work? I am sure that there will be those that love the novelty and even the flavor if they are into that stuff. Just wondering.

Punisher is just a gimmick stick. Its named "punisher" and not "pleaser" for a reason. Company's are making sticks just to say they did it, like these full ligero or 3 hour smoke time beasts. I personally do not like strong spice or too full of body cigars.

I'm also a wuss when it comes to spicy foods. However, I love strong and uber-spicy cigars. I love the Cromagnon, NHC Surrogates, Viaje Skull & Bones, etc.

The Punisher, however, is a gimmick because I'm almost positive they put ARTIFICIAL SPICER on the tip. Seriously, like you know how some cigars have sweetened tips? Those have peppered tips. They put some kind of pepper extract on the wrapper. That's why it burns your tongue/lips. Not for me, thank you.

Yep...just like everyone stated, the tip is dipped in capsicum.
I bought a box of them and have only smoked one...such a rip.

That is gross. Guess I'm glad I haven't had one. You guys ever try the Cain F? How is that?

I tried the Cain F and I like it. It was good full body, but it wasnt harsh.
I think the OR Cain F robustos were more spicy and full then the regular line, but both are not ridiculous.

The Mombacho is the stick that finally got me off the heavy spice bombs. I just realized.. It wasn't much fun to suffer through a smoke rather than relax and enjoy it.

when is it too much?

that is an interesting question.
im sure a good amount of it is subjective.

therefor the only logical answer to this question is this:

if you are no longer being relaxed by the cigar and are instead not enjoying it, then it is too much.

cop-out answer? probably. but its true.

The trend to full bodied full flavored cigars is not for everyone's palette. It's always a matter of personal preference, but I do prefer a cigar that challenges my senses. Not crazy about burning my lips when smoking cigars, but it may appeal to some brave souls.

Agreed. I mean I could have mustered through the Punisher, but I figured what was the point? I would rather dump it and switch to a cigar I actually enjoyed. So far it is the only one that has been to much for me, but then again I havnt experienced with some of the more full bodied ones.

I will try any kind of spice in my food, usually the hotter the better, but I have reached heat that was no longer fun, but painful. Artificially adding spice like that to a cigar sounds like too much gimmick for me.

But, most of the cigars guys complain about being to strong for them, I feel nothing out of. It's definitely on a person by person basis, I'm not trying to be a "tough guy", it just doesn't affect me in the same way as some other people. Strength in a cigar just to have strength doesn't interest me, if they are going for a certain "taste" out of a cigar and to get there it includes some powerful tobacco, then that's a different story.
