I've often wondered whether it's nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune ...
or to take arms against a sea of troubled legislation.

I could be wrong but as I was growing up when everything still had a smoking section or the entire place allowed smoking you were still not allowed to smoke cigars. I distinctly remember an Olive Garden when I was about 15 with a sign said "no cigar or pipe smoking allowed in the smoking section". That always baffled me as the cigars and pipe tobacco actually gave off a pleasant aroma vs that bag of crushed up rotten assholes smell of cigarettes.

I don't know what my train of thought was getting into this message but I think it might have been this:

Cigarettes ruined it for everyone!

I hate those goddamn things. I dislike their odor and I really hate being told to pick up butts. Yes I spend some of my time picking up trash from time to time. It's not by choice but it's one of those "volunteer" things we get told to do in the military. I mean it makes plenty of sense right? Take someone you paid about $250,000 to train and then $100,000 to do high level security investigation on and then have them pick up cigarette butts. I have yet to pick up a cigar nub on the side of a road or around a building but there sure is a shit load of cigarette filters everywhere!

I think that if it weren't for cigarettes the rest of us tobacco consumers wouldn't be so bad off. Even people that have decided to use chewing tobacco or the swedes and their snus are getting targeted. It's only out of jealousy from the cigarette smokers I think. Why couldn't someone get their tobacco enjoyment from chew it's not like it "affects" anyone else's health like they claim smoking does. So if I wanted a nicotine fix and I was in the middle of a 9 hour flight I could throw a copenhagen pouch between my lip and gum and be content.

Aimless rant over.

remeber back when everyhitng had a smoking section? front of the plane nosmoking, back of the plane smoking was allowed. Due to huge delays at LAX one year we missed out connection in New York. We took a seperate flight to Frankfurt, and then some crazy Indian airline to Switzerland. The indian airline pulled out all the stops. Slippers and eye masts for everyone, great food free wine, so far the best airline ever. Untill we realixed we were sitting in the smoking section. It was not a full flight so the stewardes said we could move to the no smoking section, on the left/ starboard side of the plane, as the smoking section was on the right has side of the plane.

Anyway, pointless smoke story.
