I've been hearing good things about the recent non LE version of this cigar. But have yet to see any reviews or comments of it's profile? I was wondering who out there has tried them? And what is the profile like?

Thanks:peace:

I have only had one EE, but I have had several Hoyos. They more or less fall in line with the mild flavor profile of the Hoyo marque. The only HdM I have been impressed with is the des Dieux.

What flavors do you tastse in the EE's? Wood, spice, cream. nuttyness, tea. etc.

I want to stay on topic with the EE's that I originally posted about.

The only Hoyo that I've half way liked so far is the Petit Robusto. Can care less about the rest of the line.

I didn't take any notes when I smoked the EE. I just remember it being very uninteresting and mild. I would describe the flavor as cedar-like with a touch of cream.

This is a cigar that I'm quite curious about as well. Easily the most intriguing in the HdM line for me currently. Heard some positive things....but can't speak personally on it, as I too have yet to try one.

Kirk, I love the EEs. I have never been much of a HdM fan either, but have always loved the Des Dieux. I got turned onto the EE a couple of years ago when a friend gifted me a few. I would term them mild - medium. I get some spice, honey and cocoa. I usually prefer much stronger smokes, but there is an elegance of taste in these that has made them my go-to of late. I simply find them very pleasing to my palate. Most of those I have smoked have been '08 & '09.

Not an HdM fan, and these were no different IMO. To me they are a light-medium cigar. Not what I look for when I smoke.

I have a draft of a full review done, and hope to have it posted this weekend... but the clif notes on a 2009 EE... floral, creme, and some grass

flavors not overly bold, a little bit more age would probably help but it would be easier than most to get to a point of too much age

Smoked 2 boxes of the EE's. I'm a huge fan of the EL07s, so I had hope for these. They are light - medium body, mine had alot of burn issues, construction was off(lots of bad wrapper choice, alot plugged). Flavor profile was not something I would go reaching back for, no cream, they had a light twang to them, but mostly cedar with a subtle sweetness.

Hmmm... I would not say mild. (I would not say full either) I think theses are smoking pretty good now, if you like Nicaraguan cigars, this cigar will be right up your alley. :eyebrow:

The last two boxes I have had were 08, one was GOP, and I don't recall the other code. Both were fantastic, more on the medium than mild side and perfect construction. Just ordered another box last week.

Had one just for you hot sauce. 08 or 09. First ever hdm actually.

Fair warning: my palate isn't as developed as most, but I was underwhelmed by the 1st half. A bit creamy with cedar and honey. A little after the 2/3rd I got a little spice in the back of my throat and I got more of that honey and twang. I would say it was in the mild-med body range. The strength was closer to medium.

Did I love it? Not this time, but I did enjoy it, and i can see it improving with 1 or 2 more yrs of age. Hope that helps, cheers!
