I don't see how they could build all of that unless the paid off a lot of people. What did them in? The electricity bill? You figure people these days would just go solar to not attract so much attention.

Wow! That's definately not your average joe with a few plants in the backyard! Quite a sizeable operation..Anybody have any more info on this? Who broke it up? State cops or feds? Reminds me of some of the backyards I saw in that place that is to remained unnamed..

Probably stupidity Cliff. I have new "back-door" neighbors now as that house is a rental. I went from a police officer new to the K-9 force (with his new, in training, wouldn't stop barking dog) to what sounds like a bunch of college pot-heads. Don't get me wrong, I don't give a shit if you smoke and I don't look down on those who do. These guys are just idiots. The houses in my community are very close together and there's no more than 50 feet between the back of my house and theirs. Well, yesterday was the first time I saw signs of life at this house and it was these idiots in their kitchen (back of the house) with their screen porch open rolling joints and talking about it. In fact, one of the guys went into a long detailed story about how he recently got pulled over after having "sparked a few" and had to "stuff my shit into my pants, like I always do...".
Their are a BUNCH of police living in my community. I'll bet this idiot has no idea who's living around him and I certainly wouldn't have been so loud and open about it with the back door of my house open and 5 other houses within ear-shot. :nono:
Oh, and the real reason this all ticked me off? It was 10:30 pm. I wasn't in bed yet, but knew I'd have to go out and say something once I was. Sure enough, 11:30 rolled around and I had to go into the back yard and ask them to take it inside. I have no problem with just about anything they do so long as they are inside with the damn doors closed by 10:30/11pm. I do hope they don't decide to be dicks about it. Of course if they do, my complaints to the police will involve a note about "this strange smell wafting over into my yard..." :smokingme

There was an operation in the county south of me that possibly was bigger.
It made the national news a few years ago.
He was busted by the guy that was delivering the bulk diesel fuel to power the generators to power the grow lights. He was a customer of mine at the New car dealership I started with. Just a nice old guy in a wheelchair that happened to always have a guy driving him around carrying an uzi.
